⛳ We’re golfing. At night! It’s no secret the valley is synonymous with golf, with more than 100 courses to play. But it’s also synonymous with triple-digit summer heat. The latter often puts a damper on the former.
On tap: The Lights at Indio has solved the problem, turning the lights on after the sun sinks at the par-54 city-owned course spread out over 46 acres at Avenue 42 and Jackson Street.
- Don’t like golf? Try your foot at another sport. The course is accredited by the American FootGolf League (AFGL).
The damage: Throughout the month of August you can play a round for $25. That’s a $12 savings from the peak winter rate. Book it by calling the pro shop at 760-391-4049.
What they’re saying: “Interesting experience playing under the lights. Not a bad par-3 course. … I think I used 8 different clubs to tee off with, so a good place to work on different irons on the course.” — golfpass.com
But wait: In Indian Wells, there’s a lighted, glowing driving range and night putting experience called Shots in the Night. You’ll have to wait until summer’s over, however, to try its unique take on putting.
